Braathens Training, is the former Malmö Aviation TRTO, with the same knowledge and expertise of pilot training as before.

Malmö Aviation is a Swedish airline that operates both BAe 146 and AVRO RJ 100 in regional and charter traffic since 1988. They started with BAe146 when they received a series 200QT from TNT and operated three 146s on behalf of the express cargo company and that led to acquire passenger-configured 146s in 1990.

The need to increase capacity at slot-constricted Stockholm City airport Bromma led them to seek a replacement for the BAe 146-200s, and they reached an agreement with BAE SYSTEMS' Asset Management arm to replace their 146s with nine AVRO RJ 100s.The last two arrived in early August 2001.

Today they operate 9 AVRO RJ and all the BAe 146s has been returned to BAE SYSTEMS' Asset Management arm. Within Braathens Aviation there is also a subsidiary company named Transwede Airways which operates AVRO RJ 70.

The training required gave Malmö Aviation the opportunity and knowledge to get the approval to run their own TRTO (JAR-FCL 104). This approval was recounstructed to Braathens Training in the first quarter of 2008, due to the reorganisation and new name of the training company.

Braathens Training has now a long experience of type training for Airlines as well as self-sponsored type ratings and we have chosen to do our training with as much instructor supported training as possible.
